Copings

What a vague term ! which may be unknown to lots of people except the architectural engineers and the workers in building and construction industry. Such term refers to any protective covering over the top part of the last wall of a building or the walls which is exposed directly to the sky i.e no other building exists over it. I can understand from it that it is like the shell of the turtle! Yes it is like a shield for any exposed top of a wall to the sung light and rain water.
Copings are made from many materials which should be strong . robust and resistant the effects of weathering. Since you will use copings as a protective cover for your walls then you choose good coping materials. Such materials may be stones . concrete , limestone , ceramics , wood , EPS polystyrene . bricks and terracotta. Also in A-shaped roof houses such coping system is used on the top of walls which is under the roof directly to prevent any seepage of water to the inside.
You can see coping system in the past as in nowadays. In the past they used coping of mud over the walls to make the top of walls more strong and not loose. Also they were using handrails from wood in the classic style of upstairs. These handrails are one of the coping systems. Nowadays it is used as a piece of decoration too to give more aesthetic value to the final look of the house facades.
What if no coping for the top of walls ? Sure the walls will be loose from above and the bricks will be easily subject to fall by the passing of time. Your walls will be filled with water which will make them weaker.
Izoyapi company is producing copings from EPS polystyrene in high density in different dimensions and different decorative design with a sloping surface to keep the water way from walls. You can have a look at them from that site www.izopiyer.com.tr . The outer part of such coping is a strong waterproof acrylic which is robust and resistant to different weather conditions.

Cornices at the top order of the decoration elements pyramid

Cornices at the top order of the decoration elements pyramid

When you decide to decorate your house cornices will be sure on the top of decorative elements which you will decide to choose and buy. Cornices are one of the main decorative elements which will be applied for any interior decoration of house’ rooms. So let’s go with the next lines of essay to know what are cornices ? what are the types of cornices ? what are they made from ? Are you ready to know the answers of such questions ? ok then rest your back to your seat and let your mind enjoy such interesting information.
Cornices ,as some architectural sites and some famous dictionaries define, are the decorative border over the top of a wall on that area where the wall and ceiling meet which is called seam either inside the building ( interior ) or outside ( exterior). Also cornices are considered as the decorative capping molding of the top of walls. Also all decorative eaves ( the lower edge of A-shaped roofs ) are considered eaves too. All decorative moldings . jambs , architraves are considered cornices as long as they are decorative and play as an ornament for the building or furniture. Cornices which are plain and used for interior rooms are called covings.
What we have understood and got in is that cornices play an aesthetic role in decoration , despite that fact but also cornices plays another role in case of being used outside on the exterior walls. They will be used to drive the rain water away from the  walls of building and that can be seen obviously on the A-shaped roofs houses. The lower edge of such roof ( eaves ) when they are decorated are considered cornices. Nowadays cornices main function is to cap the top of interior and exterior walls, windows tops and doors top. Terms are confusing between floor moldings , cornices, architraves and jambs. Don’t confuse yourself all of moldings , architraves and jambs are subcategories of cornices. Architraves are cornices which will decorate the horizontal and vertical lines besides openings such as windows or doors. Moldings are that protective strip on the bottom or top of a wall and it is cornice too.
Now after we have known what are cornices and their function let’s see from what material they are being manufactured. Varied types of materials that are used to produce cornices. Plaster and paper covered plaster are one of the materials which cornices are made from but the drawback of that material is that it can absorb water and it is heavy which can be dangerous if it has fallen over anybody. Polyurethane as a synthetic material is used to produce cornices but its disadvantage is its expensive price. Cornices are made from timber but we discussed before the defect of wood is that it is flammable and can be destructed by ants and termites. The best solution is in that material polystyrene especially the extruded polystyrene that is referred to as XPS. That XPS cornices are preferred for those reasons :
1- High density of polystyrene which means more robust.
2- Water-proof
3- Light-weight
4- Easy installed by just an adhesive material
5- Easy to be cut and formed by using some stationery tools as a cutter.

Izoyapi A.S company in Turkey manufactures such XPS cornices in many types and colors. They produce the patterned decorative cornices and patternless ones. They produce the plain ones ( covings ). They produce jambs , floor moldings and exterior jambs in many standard dimensions and window sills ( cornices too )  . Long time guarantee on their products. Iso 9001 , CE and TSE quality standards are applied. High technology is applied and big capacity to feed any market with the needed amount at the determined deadline of delivery. Decorative Extended polystyrene wall panels (Styrofoam wall siding)

Decorative Extended polystyrene wall panels (Styrofoam wall siding)

We discussed before in another essay what is known as wall siding and now we are going to get more knowledge about one type of the synthetic wall siding which became the best cheap choice for the seekers of beautiful wall decoration whether for interior or exterior. EPS wall panels is the keyword of our essay today. Firstly , we should define such abbreviation EPS and what does it stand for. EPS is the extended polystyrene or in our daily language the plastic foam. Such material of EPS is well-known for its high value of insulation. Due to its closed cell structure it permanence of water to infiltrate so little so it is so good to be applied as exterior wall siding waterproof material. EPS doesn’t have any toxic gas or material so it is not considered as harmful for use.
EPS wall panels are the best alternative to wallpapers, tiles, decorative paints and other natural material wall siding. Wallpapers has been used in the last decades as modern decoration solution for siding and decorating walls but its drawbacks were a lot than its benefits. You can not apply wallpapers by yourself so you need a specialist and that means more added costs to your budget. Some untrained specialists may leave behind them deformed wall papers which is not flattened well on the walls. Wallpapers were not waterproof so you should be careful in that point to spoil your walls view. Wallpapers themselves are expensive compared to even normal wall staining . I will not talk about what can fire do to a paper too all of us knows the result.
Wall ceramics and tiles were not a cost-efffective solution for owners of low budget while planning to decorate their home. Put into account the price of one square meter of ceramics and add to it the costs of installing them to walls. But they are so good as waterproof and nonflammable materials. But are they good for insulation ? actually not so good as the companies advertise for them. Same at the category of costing wall siding materials come the natural wall siding materials such as wood , brick . marble and stone tiles.
However, izoyapi A.S has put its touch in the market of wall siding by offering to the Turkish market and world market as well its distinguished product from EPS decorative panels in two different brand names izodecor and izowood, see it at https://www.izopiyer.com.tr/ . What is distinguished for what they produce. We can summarize them in the following points :
1- Their production of EPS wall panels are carried out according the international quality criteria standards for they are certified with iso 9001 and CE. Also they are applying strict national criteria standards of Turkish standards institution and for that they are certified TSE certificate.
2- Their EPS panel is of high density that offers high R value of insulation. They are produced with a tough robust acrylic layer that is impact resistant and waterproof. Such acrylic layer is having a layer of pigments which are sun proof, hence the age of such color is guaranteed for ten years.
3- They produce their EPS panels for interior and exterior in different thickness , different patterns such as different models of bricks , stones , marbles and wood patterns you can see it on their site online catalogue http://www.izopiyer.com.tr/katalog-2018.pdf .
So really EPS wall decorative panels are the best alternative and replacement of wallpapers and other traditional ways of wall siding for their special characteristics which you will find in the products of izoyapi company as 1- waterproofing 2- nonflammable 3- lightweight 4- Easy installation just DIY ( Do it by  yourself ). Wall siding is easier than before now . EPS will give your walls an impressive beautiful look in low costs.

The effect of sunlight on paints

The effect of sunlight on paints
Surely it is worrying matter to maintain your stained and painted walls continuously because of the damage that may happen to them because of their prolonged exposure to the sunlight. Anybody of us wants to spend at once and forget and most of us don’t want to buy paints every period of time and go to the specialist to apply them on his walls and you know more money will go out from your wallet. So by this way decoration is so costing. But no it is not like that and I will tell you at the end of that essay after discussing how sunlight can effect our paint negatively.
We should understand the harmful components of the sunlight and even which may be existing in the artificial lights of our lamps at home. The first one of it is ultra violet rays UV. Such kind of rays can not be seen i.e. invisible one and its damaging role is in its ability by breaking molecular bonds between the atoms which forms the paint chemicals and pigments. How does that happen ? The electrons which are existing in paints will absorb the UV photons and this will lead them to be ejected from their orbits away from the atoms and so the bonds between the atoms will be broken. The result is a film of chalk over the surface of paints and the surface which is behind the paint will be dried to the degree that it can be easily broken. The surface of paint too will be rippled.
The infra-red rays will do a heating  effect over the surface of paint. The outer layer of paint will dry quickly while the under layer will be softer and a result of that such dried surface will be stressed and make cracks. Also infra-red ray blistering heating will cause the surface of paint to have blisters. Wind and rain will do its job by removing such blisters and so ugly patches on the surface of paints will appear.
Fading of color is a problem too that may happen over years due to the ionization of color which happens as the previous effect we discussed about UV.
Anyway don’t worry as new science in the field of chemistry has invented new products that can withstand the harmful impacts and effects of sunlight. Water-based paints is the solution. They are kind of paints that is mixed with water and after drying will withstand water. The leading Turkish company in water-based paints izoyapi has taken into consideration such problems which tired the customers about the harmful effect of sunlight. They are producing water-based paints , primers and putties that have acrylic surface or plastic or silicone ones. Their products contain chemicals that made their products waterproof as well as sun proof. Varied types of paint. Color your walls and forget for long years till you think to change colors. Their surfaces don’t crack . blister or ripple.

Water-based paints

Water-based paints
Let’s discuss in such essay and shed a light on the nature of water-based paints and their merits and demerits. We will talk about such type of paints due to its wide-spread nowadays. Water-based paints are such kind of paints that you can thin it by using water unlike the oil-based paints which needs some solvents to thin them. Though they are thinned with water but after their quick dry they will be so resistant to water. Water-based paints generally consist from microscopic plastic particles of the binder , filler and pigments. For the binder layer some different materials can be used such as vinyl , PVA ( wood glue or school glue ) , alkyd or acrylic.
Water-based paints are preferred by most customers nowadays due to the strong advantages which made it even surpass the advantages of oil-based paints. First of all, they are children friendly as no odor will emit from it. So children can play near and touch the wall surface directly after it has dried. Due to the so low amount of volatile organic component VCO which may release in to the air so it is environment friendly.
For the application on wood it is most recommended than oil-based paints. Because water-based paints provide elastic surface that is flexible and can respond to the expansion and contraction of wood in different weather temperatures without resulting in cracks on the surface of the binder.
Water-based paints are durable and provide hard strong surface after their drought which is quick by nature. Due to the non-existent of solvents or VCO low levels so they are non-toxic. Surface of the paint has less rate of porous . They needs so easy clean-up after drying just resining by a brush and plate using warm-water and no need for any solvents to finish it like oil=based paints. Self-leveling is one of the best qualities that distinguish water-based paints from the oil-based ones as the binder will be smooth and strong and free from the brush marks so you don’t to apply many layers to hide such marks as you will have to do with the oil-based paints.
Izoyapi A.S company www.izoyapi.com.tr  provide to the paint and decoration markets a varied types of water-based paints, primers,  varnishes and putties. It is well-known that water-based paints will be better for the interior walls and ceilings. But izoyapi company has produced paints with some extra additives to resist the sunlight harmful photons of UV and the heat effect of IR. There are in their products which can be applied on the exterior wall easily for long age time. Water-based from izoyapi company are varied:
1- The bender components
A- acrylic
B- PVA
C- Alkyd
D- silicone
E- plastic
2- Surfaces
A- wood
B- metal
C- Cement and plaster surfaces

D- Old painted surfaces
E- interior, or exterior or ceiling.
3- Surface shape
A- acrylic matt surface
B- silicone semi-mat
C- silicone glossy
4- type
A- paint
B- putty
C- primer and top coating paint
D- Varnishes.
To sum up, the water-based paints are the best for nowadays architectural applications for all of its pros which are a lot besides its cons. Izoyapi company in Turkey produces water-based paints in high quality and cost-effective prices. What they produce are under the brand-name izocolor http://izocolor.com.tr/.

What do you know about wall siding?

What do you know about wall siding?
Wall siding or cladding is one of the architectural procedures which is being used since long history and not a new innovation of the modern architecture. The process of siding or cladding is merely to use a certain type of material over another main one to protect it from the rigid weather conditions such as humidity , rain water , sunlight effect and winds. So let’s agree that wall siding works as a protective shell of what is laying behind it. When it comes to decoration also nowadays cladding materials play a vital role in enhancing the aesthetic value of the building’s facades. Interesting topic isn’t it ? Let’s dive more and more to know more about cladding.
Since long history our ancient ancestors have realized the importance of cladding in insulating their residential houses from the external factors which may affect negatively their building ceilings and walls. Not only to protect the building itself but also to accommodate their living inside these buildings. Ancient Egyptians has used the stems of palm trees and water plants reed to build their ceilings and over it they used as a cladding mud to insulate what is under from the direct effect of sun. Till now Egyptians use the same technique with some modifications as they will use iron bars horizontally and they weave over it the stems of corn on the cop or the branches of palm tress then over they will use sheets of plastic and over they will put mud as a cladding to the ceiling. Concerning walls they have sided it with a mixture of farm animals solid waste, mud and some straw after being fermented under sun. That kind of siding will be over mud bricks too. However it has served so well in the hot weather of summer in Egypt and cold weather of winter. Till now in desert oasis such kind of cladding is widespread. In Nubian old and modern villages in Aswan , Egypt they are using that type of cladding but with a kind of decoration that suits the nature of Nubians who likes to beautify their houses. They have painted and stained over such mud cladding by colorful natural paints and have drawn animals and plants from their environment.
Cladding was not used in the past in protecting walls or ceilings of houses but it has been widely used in protecting other objects such as bread  from being infected with fungous or to be dried quickly by putting it between a kind of fresh grass or inside wool clothes. Water too was kept inside bottles surrounded with wet linen cloth to conserve its temperature in hot weather.
Nowadays there are many types of cladding (siding). Every type has its disadvantages and drawbacks. But surely we’d like to choose the best which its benefits will conquer its demerits. There is wood cladding in two styles either as shingles or as clapboard. By shingles we mean that the small flat boards of wood will be cladded horizontally to cover all the targeted area then you can decorate it or let’s say insulate it by special kinds of paints. The other style is clapboard and it simply means to order the wood boards over each other so that its thickness will increase one under the other so the last scene will be one edge of the wall thinner the other. Such kind of cladding is good for its beautiful decoration which it adds to the wall but its life-cycle not so long. It is considered as biodegradable material so it is environment friendly by its effect with fire and some wood eater insects such as ants and termites is one of its drawbacks. Also it is not cos-effective when it comes to the full buying price.
Metal cladding also is one of the new innovated methods of cladding which is suitable to commercial and industrial buildings more than to residential houses. And comes in the list of types of cladding the masonry cladding by using stones and though it is so resistant to rigid weather effects but in terms of money and costs it is not recommended so much for low budget customers. The science has interfered as always for the prosperity of man by inventing new composite materials and synthetic ones that mostly are the best choice for its low costs in buying and after buying maintenance. There is from that type fiber cement siding , polyurethane siding , and polystyrene.
Actually the best of all what I have mentioned which has won my choice and other people choice is the extended polystyrene wall claddings. They are light weight and robust synthetic material. The insulation boards of EPS are now covered with an acrylic layer that will bear the impacts and the external weather conditions. Also financially they are cost-effective; their prices in m2 are low and after sale maintenance not needed so much as their life cycle you can say it will be the same as your building age. Polystyrene itself as a material is having high value of insulating noise and temperature.
In terms of decoration and beauty they are formed in many patterns that is same like these of the natural materials. For instance they have the design of clapboard to keep the rain water away from the walls, they have patterns of wood , bricks , stones or marbles. Oh you said marbles and stones and bricks or even wood! Yes, they are to the degree till you can’t differentiate them from the real natural materials which they are resembling. So you can insulate your walls from inside or outside and add to them beautiful value that reflects your sense of art.
I advise you if you are searching for thermal insulation of your walls and decoration at the same time from such beautiful synthetic material EPS you can visit izoyapi company site www.izoyapi.com.tr or you can have a look at their beautiful catalogue http://www.izopiyer.com.tr/katalog-2018.pdf to get an idea about how technology and science have improved our old techniques of the past and how these new products are  miming the same designs of materials which are expensive for some us to buy or hard to install. Notice that these EPS claddings don’t include any toxic materials inside them so they are environment friendly.

Your decision for your home decoration

facebook
Decorate is to make something more attaractive by putting things on it. Most of us like to appear in a good beautiful appearance just to please ourselves and to feel comfort psychologically or to receive praise and admiration from the others. They will say praising statements like wow! What a beautiful ! Isn’t it like that?! It is an instinctive trait inside the character of everyone of us to see people happy from him or fascinated by his appearance or house or car.
So you will find women trying to put makeup to receive the praising words that they are beautiful. A man will wear the best beautiful clothes to receive praising from people for that. Houses too reflects the social status of its owners , their sense of art . People like to decorate their houses so they can feel proud in front of the others. They will not feel embarrassed to guest anyone to their houses.
While thinking about decorating your house lots of questions will appear like which style should I use paint, wallpaper or EPS decorative wall boards ? Which manufacturer’s material should I use ? How much the expenditures of the materials and costs of applying them ? Actually you should choose which is multipurpose material and from such perspective I speak due to the new innovations in the field of construction , finishing and building materials which added to our thinking more options to think about. In terms of home decoration there should be the insulation purpose of such materials. Everyone of us wants a warm house in winter through the least consumption of energy and same in summer we want a cool room with little hours working of the air-conditioner and fans. So in that point you need a thermal insulation paints or wall boards either for the exterior walls or the interior walls. Didn’t you suffer too from the noise of the outside or the neighbours voice or even inside your flat you need some sort of privacy and you don’t anyone to hear your voice.
So you need a home decorated and insulated at the same time. EPS polystyrene is the key to answer and reply your needs. There are EPS panels for the exterior which will be installed by just mortar or lime mixture in addition to high adhesive material. Their installation is so easier than painting itself or installing the gypsum board or the sandwich insulation boards. I will not express to you how wonderful their look when they are applied on the fascades of your building.
Turkish manufacturers of these EPS decorative materials have good fame in that field. Competitive to them are the Chinese producers. But when it comes to quality surely we may have negative tendency towards buying from china. Turkish products are manufactured according to severe quality standards of their national organization of quality standards TSE and that is beacause they as people are hardworking , serious and seek the pleasure of their customers. Also the Turkish government is giving a great care towards its products to compete in the foreign market. The prices of their products as seen reasonable and cost effective compared to its western counterparts. One of the leading companies in Turkey in such field of decorative insulation wall panels are izoyapı A.Ş . You can see their sites www.izoyapi.com.tr .
So now you are not puzzled anymore of which material to use to decorate your house or which manufacturer or what are the values that you may win from choosing EPS polystyrene.
